Tripfair – travel community
THE PAIN.
Tripfair is a travel marketplace that connects travellers directly with accommodation providers. Unlike typical OTA’s (Online Travel Agents) Tripfair takes 0% commission on any booking made via Tripfair and they guarantee a direct relationship with the traveller.
The mission is to make online travel fair and easy again. Accommodation providers (hotels, bnb’s, campings, holiday homes, …) are confronted with growing commission up to 25% via the well-known OTA’s (Online Travel Agents). Online travel is one of the big markets where online players have not reduced distribution costs or costs for the consumers.
In their open marketplace model, Tripfair is creating new services to connect travellers and accommodations directly.
The first service (June 2014) allows travellers to post their travel plans and receive personalised offers (bids) from our B&B’s, hotels, campings, …. Forget searching on Google for days or contacting hotels one-by-one to get the best direct & private deal.
Tripfair is a new way to discover, share and book experiences around the world.. An online travel marketplace that connects travellers and travel providers, easy and fair. No middlemen and 0% commissions.
This venture started within GrowthStories and it has been spinned off in a seperate company. It is currently supported by the Flemish digital research and incubation centre iMinds. The market validation is ongoing since May 2014.
